    Job Description

    Cass Clay Creamery (Kemps) in Fargo, ND is looking for qualified, passionate, team-oriented, over-achieving, innovative, high performing candidates to help us succeed in our Mission and Vision of being the most trusted leader in the dairy business while executing our passion to transform nature's pure milk into the most delicious and high quality products.

    Shift: 6:00pm to 6:30am

    *Includes holidays, overnights, every other weekend, built-in overtime and shift differential

     

    Rotating days: 2-2-3 Schedule

     

    Week 1: Mon/Tue- OFF, Wed/Thur - ON, Fri/Sat/Sun - OFF

     

    Week 2: Mon/Tue - ON, Wed/Thur - OFF, Fri/Sat/Sun - ON

     

    Pay - $25.41/hr

    Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

    Responsible for learning every aspect of Yogurt/pouch line:

    • Preparation of each label for production.

    • Thoroughly reviews the production schedule and determines the set up needs.

    • Prepares the line for startup and sustains production by checking for proper adjustments of extruding head, bringing in film and supplies, setting designated line speed and proper placement of all guards, making sure enough supplies are on hand and piping to line.

    • Keeps all equipment operational by making adjustments to equipment such as: wrapping heads, formers and turntables as needed.

    • Maintains constant weight control for minimal giveaway and documents checks on required paperwork.

    • Maintains quality by observing operations, and making adjustments by adjusting speed controls and troubleshooting.

    • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs into the shop floor system.

    • Ensures operation of equipment by troubleshooting malfunctions and calling mechanics for repairs when needed. Reports preventative maintenance issues as needed to keep line operational.

    • Communicates any issues or maintenance needs or irregularities with relieving employee to ensure and maintain efficient operations at shift change.

    • Performs daily cleaning in order to comply with GMP's (sweeping floors, emptying tubs, removing garbage, picking up caps, proper hand washing, wearing of appropriate PPE.

    • Fully engaged in the accountability of the safety and security of self and one another - - to include peer to peer safety evaluations, proper PPE usage and engagement of safety gear.

    • Follow all company policies and procedures.

    • Works overtime as needed or assigned.

    • Submit sample for lab testing as well as accurate documentation based off results.

    • Complete production logs accurately.

    • Follow Cass Clay/Kemps/DFA's GMP's and work in a manner consistent with corporate and regulatory quality and sanitation requirements.

    • Maintain a safe and clean environment.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    Required Minimum Qualifications:

    Education and Experience

    • High School diploma or GED equivalent

    • Food Manufacturing a plus, but not required

    Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

    • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent

    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

    • The ability to read, write and understand English grammar.

    • Basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

    • Must be able to write legibly to complete paperwork.

    • Able to communicate with co-workers, team leaders,

    • Must be able to work with minimal supervision and follow written and/or verbal procedures

    Physical Demands and Work Environment:

    • Standing, twisting, pushing, pulling throughout shift.

    • MEDIUM to HEAVY Lifting, carrying, exerting and/or lowering up to 60 pounds or more.

    • Repetition of hand/wrist doing simple grasping - 10-20lb - - including pushing, pulling, reaching.

    • 12 hour shifts -- rotating, to include -- overnights, weekends and holidays

    • Overtime is required

    • Working in noisy, wet, and slippery conditions.

    • Perform repetitive motion of stacking up to 10-20lbs - - including pushing, pulling, reaching and standing for long periods of time
