The Director of Procurement is a strategic leader responsible for shaping Sabre’s third-party contracting strategy and risk management and driving modernization. Reporting to the Chief Procurement Officer, this role leads a high-performing team, oversees complex negotiations, and fosters strong vendor partnerships. The Director ensures procurement aligns with enterprise goals, financial stewardship, and compliance standards, while serving as a trusted advisor across functions to deliver cost-effective, timely solutions and support long-term planning.
Key Responsibilities
+ Lead the development and execution of Sabre’s third-party contract risk management framework, including governance, policies, procedures, and risk standards.
+ Partner cross-functionally with Risk & Security, Legal, and Data Privacy to implement strategies that mitigate third-party contract risks.
+ Champion Procurement Modernization by leveraging technology and data to streamline processes, enhance visibility, and improve decision-making.
+ Define and implement continuous process improvements that increase internal customer satisfaction, reduce cycle time, and ensure compliance while mitigating vendor risk.
+ Serve as a strategic collaborator across Procurement and other departments to position Procurement as a trusted internal partner.
+ Oversee contract negotiations for all purchases and their ongoing monitoring, ensuring that compliance and risks are managed, that contracts live in a repository and that expirations and contract documents are up to date.
+ Leads and professionally develops the procurement team, fostering a high-performance culture.
Education
+ Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management or related discipline required
+ Master’s degree and CPSM or CPM certifications are preferred
+ Legal experience preferred
Experience & Qualifications:
+ 15+ years of progressive experience in procurement, vendor contracting, and negotiations
+ 15+ years of leadership experience, with a proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams
+ Deep expertise in global third-party contract risk management
+ Strong background in process optimization and program/project management
+ Demonstrated success in change management and global procurement transformation
+ Broad understanding of core procurement disciplines: spend management, category management, and supplier management
+ Exceptional communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts and influence across all levels, including executive leadership
+ Strategic thinker with sound judgment and the ability to navigate ambiguity and evolving business needs
+ Experience with ERP and contract management systems (SAP and Coupa preferred)
Additional requirements:
+ Must reside within a commutable distance to Sabre’s headquarters in Southlake, Texas
+ Must be on-site 3 days per week
