About this Role

The **Retail Training Curriculum Development Internship** will give you useful and relevant exposure to Learning & Development (curriculum, learning management system, and learning architecture) in a fast-paced corporate setting.

What You’ll Do:

• Leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) and gamification to optimize and enhance eLearning courses and online assessments

• Develop eLearning courses from start to finish (content curation, flow, and development), in partnership with experienced Curriculum Developers, subject matter experts (SMEs), and vendor partners

• Perform testing and quality assurance (QA) of new and existing eLearning courses to ensure an exceptional learner experience

• Use rapid development authoring tools (Articulate, Power Director, Canva, PowerPoint) to create eLearning courses

• Collaborate with Ace business partners to coordinate and execute virtual and in-person training sessions for Ace’s fall convention

• Experience Ace’s Learning Management System (LMS), Ace Learning Place (ALP) powered by Cornerstone SBX

• Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

• Working towards a bachelor’s degree in the following area(s): Learning and Development, Instructional Design, or Human Resources

• Entering Senior year of college

• Solid PC skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, and Power Point)

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Analytical and problem-solving skills

• Adaptability and ability to learn quickly in high-pressure environments

• Ambitious self-starter who has demonstrated the ability to contribute as an effective team member

• Takes ownership and accountability of projects and responsibilities

• Excellent time management and organizational skills

• Demonstrated motivation and initiative to succeed

• Knowledge and interest in Ace Hardware Corporation

• Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday for 12 weeks

• Willingness and ability to give presentations to colleagues, managers and directors

Location Description

Ace Hardware corporate headquarters is about 20 miles west of Chicago and you’ll get the very best of city and suburban life – prestigious shopping, dining, recreation, performing arts and historical neighborhoods. Our brand new corporate facility opened in September 2023 and has state of the amenities such as a work-out facility, underground parking and upscale cafeteria. We work in the office the majority of the week and enjoy everything our new facility has to offer together as a team.
