Reports to: Test Site Coordinator
This is an in-person stipend position.
Overview of Program:
Boston Public Schools has three exam schools: Boston Latin School, Boston Latin Academy, and the O’Bryant School of Math and Science.
Admission to these schools is based on a student’s grade point average and performance on an entrance exam, NWEA’s Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) Growth tests. NWEA’s computerized MAP Growth tests are computer-adaptive and provide teachers, students, and parents with an accurate assessment of a student’s achievement, precisely measuring what a child knows and needs to learn. BPS students take this assessment as part of regular school testing; however, non-BPS students must attend a weekend test administration at a BPS site to take the MAP test in a standardized environment.
Overview of Stipend Position:
Boston Public Schools’ Office of Welcome Services is currently hiring a team of Proctors to administer and supervise the MAP testing on Saturday, December 6th, with the opportunity of two additional weekend test dates for non-Boston Public Schools students applying to exam schools.
Proctors play an essential role in MAP administration, and having proctors who are well trained ensures consistency between students’ testing events. Proctors will be responsible for the following: 1) Administering the assessment in school classrooms to students; 2) Adhering to the procedures and policies set forth by NWEA and the school district; 3) Ensuring a secure testing environment; 4) Verifying that students are appropriately assigned to a test session; and, 5) Working with the Technical Coordinator, NWEA Technical Support, and Test Site Coordinator to resolve technical difficulties that occur during testing.
Schedule Requirements: The 2025 fall test dates are Saturday, December 6th, Sunday, December 7th, and Sunday, December 14th . Interested parties MUST report on Saturday, December 6th, and may apply for additional test administration dates for additional stipends. Proctors will be required to attend up to 3 hours of training (remote and/or in-person) and commit to an eight (8) hour workday for each testing date.
Please note that this is a temporary, part-time opportunity to be completed outside of your regular working hours.
Responsibilities: As part of the stipend opportunity, Proctors will be required to:
+ Before test dates, participate in up to 3 hours of district-led professional learning sessions.
+ Be primarily responsible for test administration for one classroom, including:
+ taking attendance and verifying your classroom roster

+ Ensure a secure testing environment by:
+ reconfiguring the classroom if needed;
+ covering any classroom materials on walls;
+ and enforcing test-taking protocol.
+ Work with the Test Site Coordinator to resolve any devices and/or MAP test issues.
Qualifications - Required:
+ Bachelor's degree
+ Ability to follow testing procedures
+ Ability to communicate instructions clearly
+ Ability to remain alert to detect instances of improper conduct during testing
+ Current authorization to work in the United States
+ Current BPS teacher with Massachusetts teaching license
