    SUMMARY

    Supports the Financial Reporting Manager with duties encompassing a range of responsibilities, including General and Administrative (G&A) cost variance analyses, Budgeting and Forecasting, Market Development Tracking, Tax Provision Assistance, Accounting & Tax Fee Analysis, and New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) Tracking, as well as other tasks assigned by the Financial Reporting manager.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

    + General Accounting/Monthly Close: Performs month- and quarter-end closing of the general ledger, prepares month-end journal entries, evaluates account balances, and prepares analyses in conjunction with preparation of journal entries and balance reconciliations.

    + G&A Variance Analysis: Maintains responsibility for analyzing variances between actual results and budgets/forecasts for General and Administrative (G&A) expenses. Collaborates with stakeholders and decision-makers, presenting information and reports. Identifies and supports cost-saving opportunities within G&A.

    + Budgeting & Forecasting: Maintains responsibility for the company’s overall G&A budget exceeding $300 million. Works closely with business unit stakeholders to prepare annual budgets and quarterly reforecasting. Builds budgeting and forecasting models. Presents budgets and forecasts to senior management.

    + Market Development Tracking: Tracks and reports on market development spending, ensuring transparency to senior management.

    + Other Operating Expenses: Conducts monthly analysis of specified accounts related to accrued operating expenses, accounting/audit fees, etc. Develops a deep understanding of account activity within the general ledger.

    + Annual Financial Statements & Footnotes: Assists with annual financial statements and footnotes, working closely with the team as well as external auditors. Works with Financial Reporting Manager to prepare footnotes related to our financial statements, including gathering supporting information, and participates in discussions with auditors as needed.

    + NJEDA Tracking: Works with Financial Reporting Manager on New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) reporting and tracking for tax credits.

    + Initiates and supports process improvement initiatives in the accounting group.

    + Works with the Accounting team and other departments in performing data analysis as required using Excel, Qlik, OneStream, and other data analysis tools.

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Ad-Hoc Reporting: Generates various ad-hoc financial reports and analyses as needed.

    + Financial Systems/Special Projects: Works on special projects to enhance processes and reporting within the financial reporting area. Utilizes tools and systems such as OneStream, BI, Qlik, and Excel.

    + GAAP/IFRS Research: Researches International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) pronouncements as required to support your area of responsibility. Identifies and summarizes impacts to accounting policies and financials. Maintains accounting policies and procedures.

    + Tax Provision Assistance: Assists the Financial Reporting Manager in preparing monthly, quarterly, and yearly tax provisions. Collaborates closely with the Tax department and external tax provision experts. Maintains and enhances tax provision models. Compiles and tracks closing materials from other departments on a monthly basis, including information needed by Tax department.

    + Assists with monthly/quarterly financial statement reviews.

    REQUIRED SKILLS & PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS

    + Knowledge of advanced accounting principles and practices with the ability to keep current on changing accounting regulations.

    + Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

    + Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.

    + Ability to analyze large sets of data and leverage business intelligence (BI) tools for analytics.

    + Experience with enterprise performance management/corporate performance management (EPM/CPM) systems such as Hyperion or OneStream Preferred

    + Non Clinical\CPA - Certified Public Accountant, , Upon Hire Preferred

    + Highly proficient with Excel and Word, with knowledge of Access, including data exchange among the three.

     

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 4-Year College Degree (BA, BS) in Accounting or Finance Required and 4-6 years' experience

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    + Office Location: Camden, NJ apart of the Greater Philadelphia Area (Philly)

    + Hybrid Role: Hybrid Role - Remote work 2 days per week (after 90 days)

    + Required Travel: 5%

    + Physical Requirement: Able to lift up to 20+ lbs.

     

    COMPENSATION: The recruiting base salary range for this full-time position is $70000 - $85000 / year. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. (Internal Job Grade: P2) In addition to competitive salary, Subaru offers an amazing benefits package that includes:
