This Opportunity
WSP has an opening for a Senior Technical Manager, Environmental Engineering at our Chamblee, Georgia office. This role will play a key part in our Site Assessment and Remediation Team within the Earth & Environment Business, contributing expertise and leadership to a variety of environmental projects.
As a Senior Technical Manager, you will take the lead on a diverse range of environmental projects, overseeing everything from site investigations and remediation to the development of risk management strategies. This key role blends technical leadership with hands-on project management and direct client engagement, ensuring every project aligns with regulatory standards and client goals. Success in this position requires a deep understanding of environmental engineering principles, strong organizational and management skills, and proven experience working with environmental regulations and industry-specific software.
Your Impact
+ Participate in a wide range of environmental and engineering projects, from conceptual site model development to design and implementation of remediation and risk management strategies.
+ Foster strong relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
+ Mentor and oversee the work of junior engineers and scientists, providing direction and technical expertise throughout all phases of project delivery.
+ Prepare detailed technical reports, interpret complex environmental data, and develop effective corrective action plans tailored to client and regulatory needs.
+ Leverage WSP’s extensive network and client base to expand environmental remediation and engineering services within the Industrial and Commercial sector.
+ Collaborate with leadership, including office management, sector leaders, and senior staff to drive project and business objectives.
+ Manage multiple projects, being responsible for ensuring that deliverables, schedules and budgets are achieved
+ Travel as required to project sites to support project execution and business development activities.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Chemical, Environmental or related engineering discipline
+ Essential professional licensure/certification (GA P.E. or ability to obtain license).
+ Candidate should have experience with CERCLA, RCRA, DTSC, Water Board and other EPD/EPA Programs.
+ Minimum of 10 years of environmental project experience, including task management, proposal writing, client contact, and regulatory interaction.
+ Experience with site investigations and remediation of environmental impacts to soil and groundwater.
+ Works independently and provides guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience writing technical reports and project proposals.
+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master's degrees in Environmental, Civil or other engineering related discipline.
