    Job Description:

    Senior Construction Manager – Southern California – Los Angeles, Orange County focus

    We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to execute high-profile self-perform, complex highway and freeway construction projects. The individual will also be responsible for developing a construction management team and pursuing new work in the Southern California market. We are looking for a strong leader and mentor to join our team; one that inspires passion and commitment, with a strong safety focus and proven success with construction projects. Candidate is expected to apply extensive knowledge of current methods and techniques to achieve cost-effective, on-schedule, safe execution.

    Specific Responsibilities:

    • Identifies construction management opportunities and works with key Parsons staff to form teaming partners. Looks for opportunities to grow the construction management market sector.

    • Mentors and leads young engineer staff in their construction management career path.

    • Manages multiple freeway projects using a variety of construction, construction management, materials testing and surveying contractors.

    • Directs and advises consultant construction management staff including resident engineers, inspectors, and other members of construction management services teams on project quality, contract compliance, claims resolution, and interaction with various technical disciplines.

    • Manages project issues to avoid additional costs and project delays.

    • Promotes safety on jobsites for workers and the public.

    • Establishes and maintains effective project working relationships with contractors, clients and third party agencies.

    • Reviews contract documents.

    • Monitors, negotiates claims and change orders, and recommend for approval to the client.

    • Expedites resolution of design and field coordination issues.

    • Reviews and recommends approval of invoices and progress payments.

    • Provides guidance to construction management services teams and construction contractors in the area of environmental compliance.

    • Prepares and presents written and oral reports.

    • Reviews project sites during construction for quality, schedule, SWPPP, and safety, etc.

    • Monitors environmental compliance on projects.

    • Maintains awareness of current federal, state and local regulations related to construction management and assures compliance.

    • Determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for defined scope and schedule.

    • Ensure effective implementation of all Company and client policies and procedures, including labor relations policies.

    • Serve as the primary contact with client representatives, subcontractors, and government representatives for construction-related activities.

    • Candidate must also implement behavior-based safety tools to strive for incident free operations (no personal injuries, property damage or environmental releases) for both the Client and Parsons.

    Qualifications:

    • 4-year degree in construction-related field (or equivalent construction-related work experience) and a minimum of 15 years of experience in field construction for environmental projects is required.

    • Must have direct experience executing multi-faceted construction projects; including Alternative Delivery, CMGC, Traditional Contract delivery for transportation agency preferred

     

    Demonstrated leadership, project management, and client management experience.

     

    • Proven ability to perform in a management capacity in a dynamic environment.

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

    Salary Range: $128,700.00 - $231,700.00
