PHARMACY TECH

BOISE REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER

SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, assists in the provision of pharmaceutical care to various customers by verifying the medication packaging process and outcomes. Practices within the scope of state and federal regulations.

REQUIREMENTS:

+ Must be licensed Pharmacy Tech with the Idaho State Board of Pharmacy or Oregon Board of Pharmacy, based on the state worked.

+ National Certification (CPhT, ExCPT or equivalent) preferred with under 3 years’ experience.

**HOURS:** Full-time, rotating days and weekends. Additional compensation is provided for evenings, nights and weekend shifts.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

+ Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.

+ Assists the pharmacist in preparing prescriptions, which includes various material resource management, dispensing, clerical, and billing duties.

+ Revenue management: ensures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients.

+ Participates in quality assurance and continuous quality improvement activities.

+ Understands the limitations to performing certain responsibilities of a registered technician in dispensing medications and remains within the scope of practice.

+ Transports medications to patient rooms or nursing medication rooms.

+ Retrieves unused medications from patient rooms or nursing areas.

+ Excellent communication skills.

+ Ability to create and foster a cooperative teamwork environment.
