    Job Description:

    The Role: Patient Access Representative – Imaging Department

     

    MaineGeneral Health is currently seeking a Patient Access Representative to perform financial clearance, registration, and clerical duties associated with point-of-service (POS) services for our patients and families in our Imaging department.

    The Opportunity:

    MaineGeneral Health has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team of Patient Access professionals. At MGH we believe in a team atmosphere where there is room to learn and grow within the department as well as the organization!

    The Work:

    + Meets with patient or patient's caregiver to exchange necessary information and documentation. Provides an explanation of the process and addresses concerns and questions

    + Communicates with unit staff and other appropriate personnel to exchange necessary information and determine placement

    + Verifies insurance benefits and obtains precertification/authorization, and ensures verification of medical necessity as necessary. Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays deductibles, and coinsurance, or refers to financial counselors for follow up

    + Ensures that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered into the registration system with timeliness and accuracy

    You Have:

    + Extensive customer service experience

    + Excellent and demonstrated communication skills/Computer literacy

    + 1 year of patient registration, scheduling, or other clerical/customer service experience in a medical office setting preferred

    + Ability to keyboard accurately and quickly

    + Basic insurance knowledge preferred

     

    Scheduled Weekly Hours: 32

     

    Scheduled Work Shift: Variable (United States of America)
