Job Title: Underwriter
Pay Range: $24
Key Responsibilities:
+ Evaluate and process credit applications in accordance with Sheffield and Truist policies.
+ Underwrite applications using fraud detection protocols, override rules, and OEM-specific promotions.
+ Ensure accurate entry of personal and dealer information into internal systems.
+ Make credit decisions within SLA timelines or request additional documentation as needed.
+ Respond to dealer and customer inquiries regarding underwriting, promotions, policies, and procedures.
+ Distribute program materials to dealers to support relationship development.
+ Execute dealer engagement initiatives via tele-consulting, meetings, and open houses.
+ Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financed products and MSRP values.
+ Support cross-functional initiatives while adhering to separation of duties principles.
+ Assist in fraud management and BSA/AML risk mitigation by following approved policies.
+ Document underwriting decisions with appropriate mitigating factors per scorecard guidelines.
Required Qualifications:
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
+ Flexible work schedule availability
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ Customer service experience
+ Strong decision-making and organizational skills
+ Experience in retail finance, particularly in the indirect lending space
+ Advanced computer proficiency (MS Office, Windows 10, etc.)
+ Proven problem-solving abilities
