Familiarity with email marketing platforms (Klaviyo, Constant Contact, MailChimp).
Experience with brand and identity development.
Product photography and video editing experience.
Retail or e-commerce design experience.
Basic understanding of HTML/CSS for digital design and troubleshooting.

Summary
The Iowa State University Book Store is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer I to join our Marketing and Event team. This position is responsible for designing engaging print and digital materials that support the store’s retail, web, and event marketing initiatives. The Graphic Designer will develop promotional content for email, web, social media, in-store signage, and advertising campaigns while ensuring alignment with the Iowa State University brand.
The ideal candidate will have strong design skills, an eye for cohesive retail branding, and experience producing content for both print and digital platforms. This role offers the opportunity to bring creative ideas to life through design that enhances customer engagement and drives sales, while providing limited supervisory support during store-wide events and on a rotating weekend schedule (approximately 3 times per semester). The Iowa State University Book Store supports work-life balance by providing schedule accommodations when assigned weekend shifts. Adaptability and willingness to contribute to a team-oriented, fast-paced retail environment is essential.

+ Working knowledge of photography, video editing, and digital publishing tools.
+ Understanding of responsive design principles and web content best practices.
+ Ability to interpret analytics data to understand customer behavior and engagement.
