Job Title: Sr. Program Manager
Job Description
As a Sr Program Manager, you will serve as the principal point of contact for key military and commercial customers, showcasing your technical program leadership within the Rugged Embedded Computing industry. You will demonstrate your seniority in the Defense and Aerospace embedded environment by managing technical, multi-million dollar budgets, scheduling, and leading action-oriented teams in the execution of integrated systems development programs.
Responsibilities
+ Familiarize yourself with the architecture and implementation of complex VME board product and integrated systems for Defense and Aerospace, including the hardware development process and integration and test requirements.
+ Take ownership of schedule and cost management on programs managed, establishing baselines for planned cost, design configuration, and schedule.
+ Establish and track metrics to monitor performance and progress.
+ Lead multi-disciplinary teams within a matrixed organization.
+ Act as a central authority for the company in its relationship with internal and external customers.
+ Establish program status reporting to anticipate and take corrective action in problem areas before they occur.
+ Develop contingency plans in potential risk areas and identify criteria for deploying these plans to resolve potential problems, reporting issues to upper management.
+ Maintain pertinent written records documenting all agreements and commitments related to the project.
+ Actively pursue new business and coordinate proposal responses for both formal RFPs and informal inquiries.
+ Work with Engineering and support organizations to analyze proposals regarding cost, risk, and quality, lead source selections, and negotiation teams, and monitor subcontract costs, schedules, and technical performance.
Essential Skills
+ Experience as a program manager with a minimum of 10 years of related experience.
+ Proficient in project management, planning, and forecasting.
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred.
+ Familiarity with SAP and Microsoft Project.
+ Extensive background in strategic planning, competitive assessments, and bidding/acquisition of multi-million dollar contracts.
+ Experience working with the Defense and Aerospace customer community.
+ Ability to serve as a principal point of contact for key military and commercial customers.
+ Management leadership of an annual multi-million dollar budget.
+ Strong interpersonal skills, especially in team building and customer relationships.
+ Technical and program leadership experience, particularly with the Single Board Computer industry and integrated systems development.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ PMP or MBA is desirable.
+ Experience with customer communications, negotiations, and proposal management.
+ US citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain DOD Security clearance.
Work Environment
You will work with a team of Program Managers and report to senior leadership. You will collaborate with the floor, engineers, and customers to ensure timely delivery. Effective communication regarding due dates and customer interactions is crucial. The organization is performing well, with many ongoing programs and is considered a highly profitable location.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of SANTA CLARITA, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $72.11 - $91.35/hr.
