Position: Lab Operations Specialist – Start-Up & Commissioning
We’re seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Lab Operations Specialist to support the launch and ongoing operations of a cutting-edge laboratory. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys building systems from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
Lab Start-Up & Construction Support
+ Provide daily on-site support during lab construction and start-up phases.
+ Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure timely equipment delivery and installation.
Commissioning & Qualification
+ Develop and execute commissioning protocols, including IQ/OQ, for all lab equipment.
+ Troubleshoot issues and ensure all documentation meets compliance and validation standards.
Materials & Inventory Management
+ Set up and maintain a structured storage system for raw materials and spare equipment.
+ Implement an inventory tracking system for consumables, reagents, and parts.
Project & Operational Support
+ Assist the project team in meeting daily and weekly milestones.
+ Oversee receipt, setup, and functional testing of lab equipment across scales.
+ Maintain a comprehensive list of spare parts for all deployed equipment.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
+ 5+ years of experience in lab operations or bioprocessing, preferably with single-use technologies and Thermo Fisher systems.
+ Strong knowledge of lab equipment, commissioning protocols (IQ/OQ), and best practices.
+ Proven ability to collaborate across engineering, procurement, and project teams.

+ Strong organizational skills and ability to track and report weekly progress.
+ Independent, proactive, and detail-oriented mindset.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $57.00 - $65.00/hr.
