We are seeking a dedicated Chemist specializing in Gas Chromatography to provide precise analytical services and results. The role involves performing routine extractions, chemical isolations, and sample clean-ups. The chemist will work with a variety of laboratory equipment such as blenders, nitrogen, roto-evaporators, shakers, pH meters, and centrifuges.
Responsibilities
+ Perform sample extractions according to documented methods and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
+ Conduct routine extraction, chemical isolation, and sample clean-up using techniques such as blending, shaking, Soxhlet extraction, digestion, solid-phase extraction (SPE), distillation/condensation, liquid-liquid partitioning, and chemical derivatization.
+ Operate and maintain laboratory apparatus and equipment including blenders, nitrogen- and roto-evaporators, shakers, pH meters, and centrifuges.
+ Document and prepare reagents and analytical working standards independently, following current SOPs.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in gas chromatography and mass spectrometry, including GC-MS and Tandem Mass Spectrometry.
+ Experience with Agilent instruments and Masshunter software.
+ Ability to modify acquisition methods and perform sample preparation and extraction.
+ Knowledge of inorganic and organic chemistry, as well as analytical chemistry.
+ Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and troubleshooting chromatographic separations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related science from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Experience in sample preparation, extraction, and general bench chemistry techniques.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $49920.00 - $57200.00/yr.
