    Job Title: Staff Engineer

    Job Description

    We are seeking a Staff Engineer to join our team in Boca Raton. In this role, you will support projects involving the design, permitting, and construction of civil infrastructure, including building foundations, solid waste containment systems, reservoirs, dams, levees, and other water containment and control structures. Your work will encompass geotechnical subsurface investigations, geo-instrumentation installation and monitoring, slope stability analysis, and stormwater treatment, conveyance, and detention/retention design. You will also play a critical role in construction quality assurance. The initial project will be an 8.5-mile levee project in the Everglades.

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct geotechnical investigations.

    + Evaluate subsurface improvement and foundation recommendations.

    + Monitor quality assurance of heavy civil construction projects.

    + Perform and review engineering calculations.

    + Prepare technical specifications and construction drawings.

    + Design, permit, and assure quality for solid waste management facilities.

    + Inspect dams and levees.

    + Contribute to proposals for professional engineering and construction services.

    + Write and review detailed engineering reports.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's degree in civil and/or geotechnical engineering.

    + At least 2 years of work experience in engineering consulting or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Will accept candidates with internship experience).

    + Experience with geotechnical and engineering software such as AutoCAD, Slope/W, and PLAXIS.

    + Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities.

    + Demonstrated ability to follow direction and work in a team environment.

    + Excellent communication skills.

    + Ability to perform field work and overnight travel assignments.

    + Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing.

    + Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel.

    + Candidates must currently hold and maintain valid U.S. work authorization.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Advanced degree in civil and/or geotechnical engineering.

    + Engineer Intern (EI) certification.

    + Professional Engineer (PE) certification.

    + Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, eBuilder.

    Work Environment

    This position requires daily reporting to the Boca office with occasional site visits in South Florida.     This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boca Raton, Florida.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $40.87/hr.
