We are seeking a dedicated Medical Office Assistant to join a small family-based practice. This role involves a mix of clinical and administrative duties, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, obtaining prior authorizations, and rooming patients.
Responsibilities
+ Answer phones and manage scheduling of appointments.
+ Obtain prior authorizations for procedures and treatments.
+ Room patients and manage patient flow.
+ Address patient messages promptly and accurately.
+ Process medication refills and manage same-day requests.
+ Ensure all tasks are completed for a single assigned doctor, handling a patient volume of 15-20.
+ Enter patient information and data accurately into the system.
Essential Skills
+ Excellent customer service skills.
+ Proficient in data entry and patient information management.
+ Strong communication skills.
+ Familiarity with medications and clinical terminology.
+ Professional appearance in accordance with policy.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ CMA/RMA certification is helpful.
+ Completion of a Medical Assistant diploma program.
+ Experience with EPIC is preferred.
Work Environment
The position offers a schedule from Monday to Friday between 7:45 AM to 6:00 PM. The practice is located in Guilford and is characterized by a friendly and easy-going atmosphere. Although staff currently feels overwhelmed due to being short-staffed, the clinic is supportive and offers a mix of clinical and administrative experiences. The dress code requires a professional appearance as per policy.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Guilford, Connecticut.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
