    Job Description

    We are seeking a Food Scientist to support a major food manufacturer in Chicago, IL. This role involves working within a dynamic team to drive product development projects, particularly focusing on sauces. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in a rapidly growing company.

    Responsibilities

    + Own and manage specific projects related to product development of sauces.

    + Serve as the technical lead for product development projects.

    + Develop product formulas, perform testing, and verify before sending to commercialization.

    Essential Skills

    + 3+ years of experience in a food research and development/product development lab, ideally in pasta sauces, dipping sauces, dressings, or related fields.

    + Experience in formulation within complex products such as sauces and dressings.

    + Proficient in conducting product development by matching existing products and new product development.

    + Experience in commercialization processes.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + BS in Food Science or related field.

    + Experience with matching products and reverse-engineering products.

    + Experience with tomato-based sauces or related products such as salad dressings and dipping sauces.

    + Self-starter and adaptable, capable of working independently without detailed instructions.

    + Comfortable taking direction and executing projects independently.

     

    Work Environment

     

    This is a one-year contract with the potential to extend or become permanent based on performance and budget.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $43.00/hr.
