Job Title: Facilities Assessor
We are seeking a Facilities Assessor to join our national team. You will play a crucial role in evaluating the condition of various facilities, contributing to infrastructure planning and management.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct thorough facility condition assessments, including interior and exterior inspections of client buildings, under direct supervision.
+ Document findings through photographs, sketches, and notes, using computer tablets with built-in cameras.
+ Review and interpret architectural and engineering blueprints to guide assessment processes and identify areas of concern.
+ Draft preliminary reports based on assessment findings, identifying necessary repairs, maintenance, or upgrades.
+ Apply basic knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural) to assess their condition and functionality.
+ Participate in fieldwork, which may include climbing ladders, entering confined spaces, and working in various weather conditions, while following safety protocols.
+ Interact with clients to clarify requirements or provide preliminary feedback on assessments.
+ Engage in continuous learning about new building technologies, materials, and assessment methodologies.
+ Assist senior assessors in managing project timelines and coordinating with other team members.
Essential Skills
+ At least 2 years of related experience.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural Engineering or related field.
+ Knowledge of Building Systems, including Architectural, Structural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems.
+ Strong communication skills and extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
+ Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to perform under pressure.
+ Ability to meet hard deadlines.
+ Strong process and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data.
+ Experience with AutoCAD or similar software.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience and/or education in Construction Management, Facilities Management, or Building Science.
+ Facilities maintenance and industrial assessment software experience.
+ Must have experience doing building assessments.
+ Live close to a major airport.
+ Ability to travel for 1-2 weeks, then return home to complete reports.
+ Great communication skills and experience in construction.
Work Environment
This role involves working in various locations across the US, with travel requirements for 1-2 weeks followed by home-based report completion. The work may involve physical activities such as walking up to 5 miles per day and working in various weather conditions. The company is a huge international firm with opportunities for advancement and relocation.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Scottsdale, Arizona.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $55.00/hr.
