Job Title: Receiving Specialist
Job Description
The Receiving Specialist will embody professionalism and respect in all interactions with clients, coworkers, and vendors. This role requires the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, assisting with non-receiving and warehouse matters when necessary. The individual will actively participate in meetings and discussions, and complete tasks and projects within assigned timelines. Availability to work more than 40 hours and weekends is required, with working hours from 8AM to 4PM, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
+ Answer front and back doors and check in foreign national visitors following written protocol.
+ Manage and verify incoming shipments against packing slips, purchase orders, and bills of lading.
+ Count and inspect items for damage, defects, or discrepancies, and document any discrepancies.
+ Assist with packaging of outgoing shipments and manage proper logging of these shipments.
+ Use equipment like pallet jacks and carts to load, unload, and move materials.
+ Record received items in the accounting system and process paperwork for accounting purposes.
+ Transport materials to their proper location after receiving.
+ Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the shipping and receiving area.
+ Perform routine cleaning duties in the shipping/receiving warehouse and maintain warehouse restrooms.
+ Report building maintenance and repair needs to management.
+ Maintain kitchen cleanliness, including running the dishwasher, emptying trash, and managing grocery orders.
+ Provide assistance with special functions such as luncheons, tours, training, and company events.
+ Assist the inventory specialist with quarterly physical inventory counts.
+ Assist accounting with accounts payable as needed.
+ Undertake any other projects or duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ High School Diploma or equivalent.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
+ Clear and effective communication skills.
+ Self-driven with initiative and problem-solving abilities.
+ Strong organizational and analytical skills.
+ Capability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
+ Adherence to safety procedures, warehouse protocols, and regulations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in inventory and logistics is helpful but not required.
+ Accuracy in counting, inspecting, and recording information.
+ Export compliance through company training.
+ Ability to meet deadlines.
+ Experience in inventory control, cycle counting, and inspection.
+ Familiarity with import-export compliance and packaging.
+ Experience in warehouse inventory and data entry.

Work Environment
This position operates in a climate-controlled facility with standard working hours from 8AM to 4PM, Monday through Friday. The role may require working beyond 40 hours and on weekends as necessary.

This is a Contract position based out of Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
