This role combines architectural expertise with project management skills to deliver innovative and efficient transit and rail projects.
As a vital member of our Rail/Transit team as a Rail & Transit Architecture Senior Project Manager in our Northeast Region, you’ll work with and lead multiple disciplined teams, engage directly with our clients, have the opportunity to mentor staff to deliver the highest level of service directly to the client and so much more!
You will utilize your skills as an architect and with your team; deliver excellence in all phases of projects, from planning through construction administration and close-out, maintaining firm-wide quality standards while working closely with technical leadership and discipline leads to understand design intent and goals for successful implementation for various transit and rail design projects.

* Manage project designs ensuring consistent project performance for complex multi-million-dollar design/build Rail & Transit projects.
* Deliver large complex and/or multiple projects on time and within budget.
* Securing, assigning and maintaining a multi-disciplinary project team containing all the resources required to successfully deliver projects while maintaining quality.
* Provide effective executive project management to help reduce the costs of delivering projects and adding value to the business by applying proven project management techniques.
* Plan, organize and direct management and design staff.
* Interface with the client to ensure expectations are identified and met.
* Manage, ensure and enhance project quality by providing ideas and suggestions aimed at improving the effectiveness of project activities.
* Perform sales activities in collaboration with local and regional leads including client development, proposal and qualifications development, and interviews.
* Support the development of strategic plans for key and target clients across the region.
* Develop scope and fee documents.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture; additional qualifications in Project Management preferred
• Professional Architectural License and be able to be licensed in multiple states
• Senior level professional design experience for rail and transit design projects such as subway, commuter rail and transit centers
• Substantial years of demonstrated professional and project management experience on rail and transit projects
• Previous experience in a client facing role and the ability to serve as a liaison between Jacobs and the client
• Previous leadership experience and comfortable mentoring junior and mid-level staff
• Experience managing a team of design professionals, including monitoring work performance, and driving professional development
• Ability to assemble plan sets meeting client and contractor expectations
• Strong analytical, conceptual, communication and organizational skills
• Proficiency in project management software and architectural design tools
• Strong understanding of project management concepts including planning and budgeting, fee development, writing scopes of work, creating work breakdown structures and project delivery schedules for design and related services
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
• Strong user of Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign graphic software
• Understanding workflow and documentation for BIM (REVIT)
• Advanced knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines
• Participation in professional organizations
