Jacobs is seeking a Construction Management Intern to join our Program Management / Construction Management team in Chicago, IL, working on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients' challenges locally and worldwide.
This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our team and be involved in large-scale airport infrastructure projects and utilize your expertise. You will solve a range of complex problems and analyze possible solutions using standard procedures.
Project opportunities are primarily airport-related, including but not limited to aviation related facilities including Airport concourse, modifications to existing facilities, taxiways, runways, aprons, airfield systems, access control, and the design and construction of aviation infrastructure. You'll work with the best Engineers and Project Managers in the business, as well as gain experience working directly with our clients. We want you to be empowered to deliver the boldest solutions for modern aviation infrastructure.
As an Intern at Jacobs, your responsibilities will encompass a diverse range of critical tasks in airport design and construction. You will assist in various project-related roles including assistance in construction observation in the field and preparing appropriate documentation, assisting in the RFI and submittal process, producing exhibits for various projects and meetings, organizing and maintaining project files and documentation, and communicating with clients to establish priorities, schedule, and goals. You will gain a wholistic view of the program through involvement with multiple groups: Design, Architecture, Capital Improvement, Utilities, Quality, Admin, Scheduling, Document Control, etc. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical skills, and practical field experience to effectively contribute to the enhancement of airport infrastructure.
* Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aviation Management, or related degree
* Coursework related to building and/or civil design, CPM scheduling, construction methods & materials
* Authorization to work in the United States without need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
Ideally, you will also have:
* Familiarity with design standards and regulations
* Previous experience with a contractor, construction manager, architecture/engineering firm, or airport authority
* Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and ArcGIS
