    Job Title: Vessel Welder

    Job Description

    We are seeking experienced vessel welders to join our team. You will be responsible for welding on storage tanks, spheres, and water towers, ranging from 23ft to 43ft. You will utilize stick and flux core welding techniques to weld vessels and components, working primarily with carbon steel up to 3 inches thick. Knowledge of back gouging is essential as all welds are subject to 100% x-ray inspection.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform welding on storage tanks, spheres, and water towers using stick and flux core methods.

    + Work with carbon steel materials up to 3 inches thick.

    + Conduct back gouging to ensure welds meet 100% x-ray inspection standards.

    + Operate overhead cranes safely and efficiently.

    + Read and interpret prints and isometric drawings for accurate fabrication.

    + Perform lay outs and fit ups independently.

    + Engage in fabrication of storage tanks, vessels, and towers.

    Requirements

    + 3+ years of experience as a vessel welder.

    + Ability to pass 2G and 3G weld tests and perform back gouging.

    + Proficiency in flux core and stick welding.

    + Experience with vessel components and gouging.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Any fitting experience is a plus.

    + Experience fabricating storage tanks, vessels, and towers.

    + Ability to read prints and work with isometric drawings.

    + Capability to fit pipe or willingness to learn.

    Work Environment

     

    You will be working in a large, non-climate-controlled shop filled with heavy equipment, where safety is highly prioritized. The role involves rotating shifts, starting with day shifts (6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday, with Saturdays as needed) and transitioning to night shifts (4:15 p.m. - 2:45 a.m., Monday - Friday), with a $2.00 shift differential during night rotations.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of HOUSTON, Texas.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $27.50/hr.
