Job Title: Machine Operator

Weekly Pay || $18 - $21 an hour || Louisville, KY

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator with strong coordination, mechanical aptitude, and manual dexterity. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of related mathematics and workplace regulations, and the ability to interpret drawings to develop logical sequences of operations. This includes laying out and marking steel for cutting, burning, sawing, shearing, punching, rolling, bending, and straightening. You will perform related duties as assigned, which may include activities at a customer job site.

Responsibilities

+ Operate and maintain lathes, milling machines, brake presses, shears, iron workers, metal cutting saws, grinding, and a variety of related hand fabrication tools.

+ Understand and work from engineering drawings, rough sketches, manuals, or verbal instructions of a technical nature.

+ Perform welding, blueprint reading, and metal fabrication tasks.

+ Develop and execute a logical sequence of operations for various fabrication processes.

+ Ensure safety procedures are followed and maintain a safe working environment.

+ Perform repetitive work while maintaining accuracy and quality.

+ Lift up to 40 lbs and stand or sit for periods of time.

Essential Skills

+ 4-7 years of experience in a machine shop and metal fabrication environment.

+ Proficiency in MIG welding, blueprint reading, fabrication, and operating various machinery.

+ Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.

+ Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.

+ Strong oral and written communication skills.

+ Basic understanding of computers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with flux core, production, fitting, grinding, and assembly.

+ Special combinations of education and experience or demonstrated accomplishments in related fields.

Work Environment

The work environment is a metal fabrication setting where dock equipment is made. The position operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Safety is a top priority, and the role involves working in a collaborative and supportive team.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, Kentucky.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
