Job Description
The Lead Building Engineer is responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems. This role requires providing technical leadership, supervising engineering staff, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards while maintaining optimal building performance.
Responsibilities
+ Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems.
+ Provide technical leadership and supervise engineering staff.
+ Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
+ Maintain optimal building performance.
+ Manage relationships and dealings with vendors.
+ Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
+ Perform maintenance repairs including carpentry, painting, and furniture assembly.
+ Utilize Building Automation Systems and CMMS for work order management.
+ Supervise minor plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and fire safety system repairs.
Essential Skills
+ Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
+ 5+ years of experience in building maintenance or engineering.
+ At least 2 years in a supervisory role.
+ Familiarity with Building Automation Systems and CMMS.
+ Relevant licenses or certifications such as EPA 608, Journeyman Electrician, Stationary Engineer License.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or GED; technical or trade school certification preferred.
+ Supervisory skills and leadership capabilities.
+ Experience with welding, rooftop units, and boiler maintenance.

Work Environment
The position involves working Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, ensuring the upkeep of two small corporate office buildings with minor plumbing, HVAC, and electrical tasks. The buildings are three stories high with a 20% occupancy rate. The role includes hands-on maintenance, painting, and minor repairs in a corporate setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
