Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator III – Finish Grade Specialist
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced heavy equipment operator proficient with excavators, bulldozers, and other large machinery. This senior-level position is ideal for a professional skilled in soil mixing, with a strong commitment to safety.
Responsibilities
+ Adhere to all safety rules, both company-wide and site-specific.
+ Contribute to improving safety plans (JSAs and JSAPs) with your input.
+ Perform daily equipment checks and basic maintenance during operation.
+ Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently, avoiding shortcuts.
+ Excavate, mix, move, and grade materials according to site specifications.
+ Achieve both rough and finish grades in varying soil and site conditions.
+ Monitor surroundings to ensure safety before and during operation.
+ Communicate clearly using radios, hand signals, or verbal instructions with the crew.
+ Work independently and demonstrate initiative.
+ Assist with lifting and placing materials as needed.
+ Maintain and clean equipment, reporting any issues.
+ Stay alert to changes in the site and adjust operations as necessary.
+ Remain open to learning from senior operators and superintendents.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ At least 5 years of experience operating heavy equipment.
+ General construction experience is a plus.
+ Capability in soil mixing.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Cameron, Louisiana.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
