    Description

    Are you an Accounts Payable professional with a knack for detail, a history in the construction industry, and strong expertise in Microsoft Excel? Our client in Berlin, CT, is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team on a contract basis. If you have the required skills and experience, we want to hear from you!

    Key Responsibilities

    + Process and verify invoices, purchase orders, and payment requests.

    + Match invoices to purchase orders and receipts accurately.

    + Ensure the timely payment of vendor invoices and expense reimbursements.

    + Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies.

    + Maintain up-to-date vendor files and records.

    + Assist in month-end closings and reporting activities.

    + Communicate with vendors to address payment statuses and inquiries promptly.

    + Support any audits and compliance requirements to ensure proper documentation and adherence.

    Requirements

    + High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.

    + A minimum of 2 years of accounts payable experience, with a preference for candidates with a background in the construction industry.

    + Familiarity with construction accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, Viewpoint, or similar) is highly advantageous.

    + Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with vendors and team members.

    + High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.
