Job Title: Truss Assembler
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled truss assembler to join our team on the 2nd shift. The role involves assembling residential and commercial trusses with precision and accuracy. You will have the opportunity to work in different roles, primarily as a builder, but also as a catcher or in a truss-standing position.
Responsibilities
+ Assemble wood trusses according to a blueprint displayed on a screen.
+ Set up a jig using robotic pins to place pre-cut wood accurately.
+ Tack plates and use a roller to flatten the wood and plates, completing the product.
+ Read a tape measure to 1/16 of an inch and utilize hand tools such as a hammer and pneumatic staple gun.
+ Stand the truss upright once completed, potentially working with a forklift operator.
+ Collaborate with the saw operator to catch and stack wood, ensuring proper labeling and measurement verification with a carpenter square.
Essential Skills
+ Ability to lift 50 lbs.
+ Proficient in reading a tape measure.
+ 6+ months of experience in general labor, manufacturing, production, carpentry, or construction.
+ Must score 80% on Basic Industrial Math and Tape Measure test.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with hand tools, power tools, and woodworking is beneficial.
+ Familiarity with blueprints and mechanical assembly processes.

Work Environment
Work in a dynamic manufacturing environment on the 2nd shift, from Monday to Thursday, 3:30 pm to 1:00 am, and noon to 6:00 pm on Fridays. The facility is temperature-controlled, with open doors for ventilation in the summer and heating in the winter. Dress in jeans, shorts, a T-shirt, and steel-toe boots. Bring your own framing hammer, hammer holder, and tape measure. Occasionally, work may extend to Saturdays during busy periods. Knee pads are available if needed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pleasantville, Iowa.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.77 - $22.77/hr.
