Job Title: Welder

Job Description

The welder is responsible for placing piece parts on assemblies in fixtures, on tables, or devices to perform the welding process. The position primarily utilizes MIG welding but may also require TIG or stick welding of steel assemblies and operating a cutting torch. Ensuring the quality of job functions and staying alert for any unsatisfactory quality of equipment parts is essential. The role requires the immediate notification of supervision for all defects in quality, recording and reporting work order information, and maintaining a clean and orderly work area.

Responsibilities

+ Perform welding processes on assemblies using MIG, TIG, or stick welding techniques.

+ Operate cutting torch for steel assemblies.

+ Ensure quality control by remaining alert for defects in equipment parts.

+ Discontinue work and notify supervision immediately upon detecting quality issues.

+ Record and report work order information and production times.

+ Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in MIG welding with at least 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

+ Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in TIG welding is a plus.

+ Understanding of blueprint reading and grinding.

Work Environment

This position is part of the welding and fabrication team in a clean and organized environment. Work shifts are Monday to Friday, with the first shift from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm and the second shift from 3:15 pm to 1:45 am. The dress code includes wearing pants, steel-toed shoes, and personal protective equipment such as a welding mask and safety glasses.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of GRIMES, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $21.00/hr.
