    Purchasing/Materials Manager

    Job Description

    This role serves as the primary liaison between customers and internal materials teams, ensuring strategic and tactical alignment across procurement and demand planning functions. The position involves interpreting customer material requirements, driving fulfillment strategies, and maintaining strong communication internally and externally to support aggressive growth objectives.

    Responsibilities

    + Develop and execute inventory strategies to achieve targeted inventory levels and support revenue goals.

    + Collaborate with scheduling, demand planning, and procurement teams to ensure customer satisfaction and site objectives are met.

    + Review and approve purchase orders within signature authority, ensuring defensible positions on pricing and claims.

    + Monitor and report on financial metrics impacting materials performance, including purchase price variance, inventory levels, and obsolescence.

    + Participate in forecasting activities for revenue, inventory, and margin objectives.

    + Drive supply chain optimization initiatives and maintain inventory levels that support on-time delivery.

    + Provide input into repricing processes when needed to mitigate risk and support cost reduction strategies.

    + Oversee purchasing and buyer teams, including dotted-line coordination with offshore resources.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field required.

    + 8+ years of related experience preferred (or 6 years with a Master’s degree).

    + Minimum 3 years in a similar industry role.

    + Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

    + Ability to lead in a dynamic environment and manage both onsite and offshore teams.

    + Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets (data manipulation, graphs, formulas).

    + Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, JDE, Connexus, and Google Suite tools.

    Work Environment

    This position is onsite with office hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with flexibility. You may be required to travel to customer locations as needed and to the headquarters for executive meetings.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Neenah, Wisconsin.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $103000.00/yr.
