    We are seeking a dedicated Purchaser to select and purchase quality products and materials, including weldments, machine fabrications, screws, and more. The role involves building strong relationships with suppliers and negotiating for the best prices, processing requisitions, and updating teams on the status of orders. You will ensure inventory levels are appropriate, arrange transport, track orders for timely delivery, analyze market trends for insightful buying decisions, and coordinate with the inventory team, management, and stockroom. Assessing the quality of stock received and addressing any discrepancies with suppliers and management will also be part of your duties.

    Responsibilities

    + Select and purchase quality products and materials.

    + Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate for best pricing.

    + Process requisitions and update teams on order status.

    + Maintain appropriate inventory levels.

    + Arrange transport and ensure timely delivery of goods.

    + Analyze market trends for insightful buying decisions.

    + Coordinate with inventory team, management, and stockroom.

    + Assess quality of stock received and address discrepancies.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in Purchasing and Supply Chain

    + Strong Negotiation skills

    + Inventory management

    + Blueprint reading

    + Proficiency in Procurement and Purchase Order processes

    + ERP system knowledge

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High school diploma

    + Ability to multitask and assist in different department functions

    + 3+ years of purchasing experience

    + Experience in cost savings initiatives

    Work Environment

    This role is part of a small, family-owned company that values a fun and engaging work culture. You will work alongside another purchaser hired in March, providing a collaborative environment. The standard working hours are from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, with flexibility to start as late as 8 AM to accommodate family needs.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Racine, Wisconsin.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.
