Job Requisition: Tech Support, Documentation & Automation Specialist (Market Data Systems)
We’re seeking a proactive and service-minded Tech Support, Documentation & Automation Specialist to join our team. You’ll be the first line of support for our Market Data Systems, help users learn the platform, document what you learn, and identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks. The role blends technical support, documentation, and business/requirements analysis to make life easier for our customers and internal teams.
What you’ll do
• Provide day-to-day technical support for our Market Data Systems (issue triage, troubleshooting, and escalation as needed).
• Learn the system end-to-end: features, data flows, integrations, and common user workflows.
• Create, maintain, and improve documentation: user guides, runbooks, knowledge base articles, and onboarding materials.
• Gather, document, and validate business and user requirements for system enhancements and automation opportunities.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Market Data toward translating requirements into actionable specs.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities (scripts, small apps, or automation platforms) to reduce manual work and improve accuracy.
• Develop test plans, participate in UAT, and assist with rollout of new features.
• Deliver user training and contribute to ongoing training materials for new and existing users.
• Monitor recurring issues, propose preventive solutions, and track improvement outcomes.
• Maintain ticketing and issue-tracking processes to ensure timely resolution and clear communication.
What we’re looking for (Required)
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex topics clearly to non-technical users.
• Strong customer service mindset with a professional, collaborative approach.
• Eager to learn and rapidly adapt to a complex Market Data System.
• Solid documentation and organizational skills; meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (data manipulation, basic formulas, reporting).
• Proficiency in Python (3.x) for automation and tooling:
o Ability to write small scripts to automate repetitive tasks.
o Experience parsing and transforming data (CSV/Excel/JSON) and basic API interactions.
o Comfort sharing, reusing, and maintaining Python scripts within a team.
• Experience with technical support, documentation, or business analysis (1–3 years preferred).
• Ability to work cross-functionally with Market Data, IT, and Product teams.
• Basic familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., Zendesk, Jira Service Management, ServiceNow) and knowledge bases.
• Degree or equivalent experience in IT, Computer Science, Finance, Business, or related field.
Nice-to-have (Preferred)
• Advanced Python topics (pandas, openpyxl, API calls, error handling patterns) and ability to refactor scripts for reliability.
• SQL or data analysis experience.
• Experience with Market Data processes (price feeds, reference data, data normalization) and data systems.
• Exposure to automation platforms or workflow tools (e.g., UiPath, Zapier, Power Automate).
• Familiarity with writing SOPs and process documentation.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to accelerate script development; ability to review and refine AI-generated code.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
