    Microsoft Corporation (Redmond, WA)

    Apply Now

Windows powers over 1.4 billion devices globally and anchors the commercial PC ecosystem—spanning OEM (Original Equipment Manufacture) partners, enterprise customers, education, public sector, MSPs, ISVs, and silicon providers. Decisions made within this ecosystem have far-reaching impact on device quality, customer satisfaction, and competitive positioning.

Today, signals from the market, customers, partners, and telemetry are often handled manually, reactively, and in fragmented ways. This role exists to change that.

The **Principal Product Manager** - **AI-Driven Insights & Ecosystem Intelligence** will lead the transformation of how data—telemetry, market feedback, customer signals, and partner intelligence—is used to drive OEM strategy, product decisions, and share protection. This role builds the systems and automation that convert raw input into meaningful action and influence across teams.

This is a strategic, horizontal role reporting directly to the CVP, operating across OEM engineering, commercial insights, ecosystem partnerships, and product influence.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

    Responsibilities

    Convert Signals into Insight

+ Identify high-value insight gaps across OEM device quality, customer satisfaction, share risk, ecosystem trends, and competitive movement as well as key commercial, EDU, and GSI metrics around Windows deployment, quality, and adoption.

+ Aggregate and synthesize telemetry, survey data, field signals, support data, and qualitative feedback into actionable insights.

+ Build repeatable, AI-assisted insight workflows that replace manual reporting and slide-driven updates.

    Transform Data into Direction

+ Translate ecosystem signals into prioritized actions for Windows engineering, OEM partners, and commercial strategy.

+ Evolve “Windows Ecosystem Health Index” and create a “Windows Commercial Health Index” with meaningful indicators (e.g., device age, quality trends, upgrade adoption, satisfaction, displacement risk).

+ Partner with centralized data science and telemetry organizations to leverage existing infrastructure.

    Drive Outcome-Based Execution

+ Create automated workflows that ensure insights lead to decisions or roadmap changes—not just visibility.

+ Define and track ecosystem and share-critical metrics alongside OEM strategy, partner feedback, and customer experience trends.

+ Replace at least one legacy or manual reporting motion per quarter.

Deploy AI as a Force Multiplier

+ Use automation, copilots, summarization models, and telemetry pipelines to reduce time from signal to action.

+ Build frameworks and prototypes that other PMs and partner teams can adopt with minimal friction.

    Influence Without Owning Headcount

+ Operate horizontally across OEM engineering, commercial share insights, compete, and ecosystem partner teams (MSP, GSI, EDU).

+ Work directly with senior leaders to highlight gaps and drive prioritization of insights that shape direction.

+ Establish clarity and visibility into risks and opportunities across device strategy, quality, and customer adoption.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development

    + OR equivalent experience.

+ Knowledge of Windows telemetry and commercial deployment environments.

+ Experience working with AI/ML tools to derive insights from complex datasets.

    Preferred Qualifications:

+ Familiarity with Windows quality metrics and enterprise customer needs.

+ Experience with tools like Kusto, Power BI, or Azure ML.

+ Proficient communication and storytelling skills, especially with technical and executive audiences.

+ Proven ability to drive cross-functional alignment and influence without authority.
