    Health Advocates Network is currently seeking a **School RN (BA Degree)** to work at a facility in **DeLand, FL** **.** These are _registry_ positions with our company.

     

    **Pay Rate:** $28 / hour

    *W2

    POSITION GOAL

    To appraise, protect and promote the health of students by providing technical and management functions.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse with a bachelor's Degree in nursing in accordance with Florida Statute 464 or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with Florida Administrative Code

    • Four (4) years of pediatric, public health, family practice/pediatric office, or school health nursing experience

    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in nursing or related field

    • Current CPR and first aid certification

    • Possess a valid Florida Driver's License; if a holder of any other valid US state-issued Driver's License agrees to acquire a Florida Driver's License within thirty (30) days of employment, except in a case where accommodation is required

    REQUIRED SKILLS

    • Demonstrated knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and techniques

    • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills

    • Demonstrated sound decision making skills

    • Demonstrated sound management and training experience

    • Demonstrated ability to determine work priorities, assign Work, and ensure proper completion of work assignments

    • Demonstrated ability to participate as a member of a leadership team

    • Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously and effectively with both professional staff and school community

    • Demonstrated knowledge of Infection Control Principles and Universal Precautions

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. *Supervise the clinical Work of designated student health staff, including selection, training, and performance appraisal.

    2. *Supervise the student health clinic, monitoring clinic activities, equipment/supplies, and procedures used by health room staff and volunteers to ensure compliance with state laws and district policies.

    3. *Report violations immediately to the Senior Nursing Supervisor.

    4. *In partnership with school based administrative staff, evaluate employees through established criteria. Meet on a regular basis with employees to ensure established criteria are met.

    5. *Monitor compliance issues of the school health program relating to health assessments, protocols for the administration of medication, and performance of nursing procedures.

    6. *Coordinate and conduct health screenings such as vision, hearing, scoliosis, and growth/development.

    7. *Initiate appropriate referral and follow-up on students with abnormal screening results.

    8. *Review student's health information (i.e. physicals, emergency information cards, school entry forms and develop care plans on students with chronic health problems.

    9. *Assist school personnel in the maintenance of student health records.

    10. *Assure immunization compliance by the follow-up of incomplete documentation, including education and referral to appropriate resource for the completion of health and immunization requirements.

    11. *Participate in Student Success Team meetings, student staffings, and individual educational plans for students with medical needs, including determination of placement and services.

    12. *Staff school health room, as needed, conducting nursing assessments, health appraisals, and administering first aid in accordance with district policy, procedures, Florida Statutes, and other governing rules.

    13. Provide, as needed, nursing care and physician ordered treatment and procedures to special needs students after child specific training and documentation.

    14. *Work collaboratively with appropriate community agencies regarding student health needs.

    15. *Attend appropriate seminars, workshops, and continuing education programs related to school health and school nursing practice for professional development.

    16. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Coordinator, Health Services.
