Health Advocates Network is currently seeking a **School RN (MA Degree)** to work at a facility in **DeLand, FL** **.** These are _registry_ positions with our company.
**Pay Rate:** $30 / hour

POSITION GOAL
To appraise, protect and promote the health of students by providing professional and management functions
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree or diploma from an accredited nursing school; Master's degree in nursing is preferred.
• Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464 or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with Florida Administrative Code
• Four (4) years of pediatric, public health, school health, or community health nursing experience, or equivalent to include nursing management experience
• Current CPR and first aid certification and maintain required continuing education requirements.
• Possess a valid Florida Driver's License; if a holder of any other valid US state-issued Driver's License, agree to acquire a Florida Driver's License within thirty (30) days of employment, except in a case where accommodation is required
REQUIRED SKILLS
• Extensive knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and techniques
• Extensive knowledge of Infection Control Principles and Universal Precautions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to supervise staff
• Demonstrated ability in planning, implementation, task completion, and decision making
• Ability to collaborate with school based and district staff and professional, technical, and general persons related to school health services.
• Ability to participate as a member of a leadership team
• Ability to work harmoniously and effectively with both professional staff and school community
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. *Coordinate the delivery of health services to students in Volusia County Schools (VCS).
2. *Ensure daily coverage of schools through monitoring absences and assigning staff as needed.
3. *Supervise the technical and management Work of student health nursing supervisory staff.
4. *Supervise the Work of designated student health staff, including selection, training, and performance appraisal.
5. *Assist in the process of recruitment and orientation of qualified staff to fill vacant positions.
6. *Coordinate the Full Services School Health Program to improve health care at targeted school sites.
7. *Communicate on a regular basis with employees, both individually and in staff meetings.
8. *Aid subordinate nursing staff in developing professional knowledge and skills.
9. *Advise and counsel nursing personnel about professional growth and advanced education.
10. *Supervise the clinical Work of the student health clinic, and monitor clinic activities, equipment/supplies, and procedures used by health rooms' staff and volunteers to ensure compliance with state laws and district policies.
11. *Review and recommend policies and procedures relating to students with special health needs.
12. *Participate in Student Success Team meetings, student staffings, and individual education plans for students with medical needs, including determination of placement and services.
13. *Staff school health room, as needed, conducting nursing assessments, health appraisals, and administering first aid in accordance with district policy, procedures, Florida Statutes, and other governing rules.
14. *Participates in 504s, IEPs, and Hospital Homebound meetings to ensure a safe learning environment for chronically ill populations
15. *Provide, as needed, nursing care and physician ordered treatment and procedures to special needs students after child specific training and documentation.
16. *Work collaboratively with appropriate community agencies regarding student health needs.
17. *Manage immunization compliance, reporting and training at school level.
18. *Attend appropriate seminars, workshops and continuing education programs related to school health and school nursing practice for professional improvement.
19. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Coordinator, Health Services.
