**Northrop Grumman Mission Systems' (NGMS) Advanced Multi-Function Sensors (AMS) Division** is seeking a **Combat Sensors, Business Unit Strategy and Mission Solutions Director** onsite in **Baltimore, MD.** The primary scope of this job is to support successful execution and management of ongoing AMS Production and Development Efforts within the Combat Sensors Business Unit (CSBU) who deliver critical warfighting capabilities to Prime and DoW customers.
What You'll Get to Do:
The SMS Director will be responsible for leading the strategy, capture, mission integration and business development supporting CSBU programs. This effort will entail close coordination and collaboration with the CSBU and AMS Division profit/loss, business management, operations, global supply chain leaders and subject matter experts, along with key US government agencies. This position will also have primary responsibility capturing additional scope and overseeing the stakeholder engagement plan for both ongoing and emerging programs alongside our Prime and Government partners. Additionally, the Director will be responsible for developing a growth strategy, including market and competitive analysis, strategic partnering, opportunity identification and qualification. In support of these activities, the Director will supervise SMS managers assisting with the above efforts.
Specific business development and strategic planning responsibilities under this role’s leadership include, but are not limited to:
_Customer Understanding & Analysis:_
+ Analyze the national security environment and resulting future customer requirements.
+ Support robust competitive and market analysis and assessments to identify discriminators, support price-to-win activities, and determine resources required to execute new business development activities.
+ Collaborate with NGC Strategy and Business Development organization on customer engagement strategies and execution.
_Business Development and Strategic Planning:_
+ Ensure new business activity is carried out in accordance with government, customer, and Northrop Grumman policies, procedures, and processes.
+ Support industry teaming and collaboration across the business areas and industry teammates to accomplish strategic objectives for the mission area.
+ Work in partnership with global supply chain, program management, operations, and risk-management teams.
+ Develop and execute business development plans to influence all aspects of new business capture and Position-to-Win (PTW) through the Business Acquisition Process (BAP) execution - supporting opportunity identification and shaping, threat identification and mitigation, and associated mission area business analysis to drive recommendations.
Basic Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree and 12 years of experience or Master’s Degree with 10 years of experience in the defense / aerospace business.
+ Demonstrated multi-disciplinary business development, strategy development and/or capture experience.
+ Demonstrated people leadership skills; direct and indirect leadership of large teams; ability to work effectively in a team environment.
+ Experience implementing capture practices, that ultimately result in better outcomes for the enterprise.
+ Business case development/analysis experience.
+ Experience and working knowledge of government international sales processes to include Foreign Military Sales and Direct Commercial Sales policies.
+ Prior DOD/DOW experience.
+ Proven highly effective executive communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
+ Must be able to travel as needed (up to 25% of the time).
+ US Citizenship.
+ Active DoD Secret security clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain a SAP.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master’s Degree in technical/business field.
+ 15 years of industry experience in business development, capture leadership and/or program management.
+ Strategic planning, new business development, and investment planning.
+ Strong customer domain knowledge and a proven track record of sustained business growth.
+ Active DoD Top Secret.
+ Operational military background in an aviation field
+ SAP clearance.
Primary Level Salary Range: $188,600.00 - $282,800.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
