Job Title: Chemist

Hours/Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 am to 5 pm

Pay Range: $25.00 - $30.00/hr

Type: Contract, Potential for extension or conversion to permanent

Overview

The Laboratory Technician – Hair Color will support the formulation, testing, and documentation of hair color products under the direction of a supervisor or senior chemist. This role involves lab batching, analysis, and stability testing to ensure product quality and performance while maintaining accurate records and a well-organized lab environment.

Responsibilities

+ Prepare lab batches for hair color applications under the supervision of senior staff.

+ Conduct product testing to verify release criteria and ensure formulation quality.

+ Perform stability and efficacy testing, documenting experimental details, results, and conclusions.

+ Maintain laboratory materials, glassware, supplies, and ensure proper waste disposal.

+ Record all formulation details, test data, and observations in laboratory notebooks and formulation software.

+ Communicate testing results, stability data, and formulation issues promptly to supervisors and team members.

+ Maintain an organized, clean, and compliant laboratory workspace.

+ Support additional projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

+ Experience in laboratory techniques and product formulation, preferably in cosmetics or hair care.

+ Understanding of basic analytical and stability testing methods.

+ Strong documentation skills and attention to detail in experimental work.

+ Ability to follow established procedures and work effectively under supervision.

+ Good communication and organizational skills.
