Job Title: Application Engineer - Power Generation
Job Summary:
System One is partnering with our client in search of an Application Engineer - Power Generation. This position will play a pivotal role in designing and optimizing power generation solutions. We are seeking a motivated engineer with a strong foundation in both electrical and mechanical systems, alongside a passion for innovative power generation technologies. Whether you excel in gaseous-fired engines or have experience with diesel engines, your expertise will help to shape efficient and reliable power generation systems.
Key Responsibilities:
+ System Design & Integration: Design and engineer advanced natural gas engine generator systems, focusing on both mechanical and electrical design for stationary and mobile generator sets.
+ Technical Support: Provide crucial technical assistance for quote development and interface with customers to resolve inquiries and troubleshoot technical challenges.
+ Performance Optimization: Conduct feasibility studies and performance analyses to enhance power generation systems' efficiency and reliability.
+ Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to successfully integrate power generation systems into comprehensive infrastructure projects.
+ Maintenance Procedures: Develop and implement maintenance and troubleshooting protocols to ensure ongoing reliability of power generation equipment.
+ Industry Awareness: Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to inform design decisions and enhance system performance.
+ Field Support: Provide expertise and guidance to field service teams during installation, commissioning, and maintenance operations.
+ Regulatory Compliance: Participate in ensuring power generation systems adhere to safety and environmental standards.
+ Documentation: Prepare detailed technical reports, specifications, and maintain product Bills of Materials (BOM) to support project planning and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
+ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (Advanced degree preferred).
+ Experience: Minimum of 5 years in power generation engineering or a closely related area.
+ Technical Skills: Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles; proficiency with gaseous-fired engines is essential, with diesel engine familiarity preferred.
+ Software Proficiency: Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools.
+ Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.
+ Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the capability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
+ Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
+ Commitment: A proactive approach to continuous learning and professional growth.
Physical Demands:
+ Ability to stand, bend, and lift objects up to 50 pounds regularly.
Work Environment:
+ Warehouse environment with potential exposure to elements such as odors, noise, dust, heat, cold, or chemicals.
Personal Protective Equipment:
+ Required PPE includes eye protection (goggles, face shield, or safety glasses) and steel-toed safety shoes/boots.
Training Requirements:
+ General Safety, Harassment Prevention, Quality System Awareness, ISO Compliance, and Ethical Standards training.
