Position: Operations Supervisor
Available Schedule: Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:45 PM
Compensation: $25.00-$29.00 per hour
Job Description:
Forward Air Complete is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead a team of Regional Carrier Specialists; this candidate will be responsible for performance matrix and communication for Forward Air Cartage product. The qualified candidate will coordinate all activities of Regional Carrier Specialist and other support personnel. The supervisor will provide planning for, direction to, and will control available resources for the Regional Carrier team. In addition, the supervisor will provide training, performance feedback, and provide disciplinary recommendations when necessary.
Core Responsibilities & Duties:
Ongoing personal training development for cartage, terminal, sales, and supervisory knowledge
Ensures Completion and reporting of all CMG Operations duties and KPI’s
Drive department Key performance indicators
Determines departmental training needs and develops a corresponding schedule
Determine solutions for issues on the 14 Day report that linger more than 5 business days (KPI)
Ensure phone, email, and duties coverage in the event of departmental absences and report the plan daily to management
Escalations from FA sales and ops management
Escalated Short Pay and Service Failure authorization responses
Prepare for and design plans that will cover absences, unique events, special business, and holidays
Communicate IT needs for CMG Operations and participate in the design of enhancements
Review distribution opportunities
Manage overtime compared to revenue and company needs
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Possess leadership skills
Thorough knowledge of mathematics; apply basic-moderate calculations
Must be able to mulita-task in a fast-paced environment
Ability to drive performance of direct reports and lead a team in a fast-paced environment
Ability to provide risk management
You must have the ability to relate to and work well with different personalities
Must be outgoing and friendly and can build partnerships
Able to work flexible hours
International/Import experience is a plus
Must possess demonstrated leadership ability
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with all levels
Ability to negotiate with different carriers and coworkers
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, officers, carriers, and the public
Skills:
The ideal candidate will possess a “can do” attitude with a “will do” work ethic
Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Experience with AS400 operating systems is a plus
Transportation industry knowledge and experience is a plus
