The MetroHealth System is redefining health care by going beyond medical treatment to improve the foundations of community health and well-being: affordable housing, a cleaner environment, economic opportunity and access to fresh food, convenient transportation, legal help and other services. The system strives to become as good at preventing disease as it is at treating it. Founded in 1837, Cuyahoga County’s safety-net health system operates four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers.

    Summary:

Completes a variety of Trauma Registry tasks, including data collection, data entry and retrieval, data quality and integrity, data analysis, and display and statistical conversion. Interacts with state and regional regulatory agencies to provide required data that ensures the accreditation of the hospital’s designation as a Level I Adult Trauma Center, Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, and accredited Burn Center. Obtains, abstracts, and enters appropriate concurrent and retrospective patient data on trauma and burn patients. Uses Abbreviated Injury Scaling (AIS) coding of injuries to maintain the trauma and burn patient databases. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
