About you and this role
As the Environmental/Regulatory Specialist, you lead regional environmental compliance performance improvements by implementing the management system, environmental system or new regulations across the entire region. Your efforts add value, support business, site, and hub objectives, and help maintain the license to operate. You provide support across a regional leveraged organization and handle more complex tasks and projects. This role requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines.
Responsibilities
+ Develop region wide implementation plans and lead implementation of new and/or complex global environmental standards, requirements and improvement initiatives, and tracks success. Ensure effective execution of new or improved environmental compliance or management systems utilizing the Management of Change (MOC) work process, standards and procedures throughout the region.
+ Lead performance improvement of regional environmental compliance performance. Identify opportunities to streamline delivery environmental or resources and work processes.
+ Have accountability to ensure external regulatory requirements are implemented across the region.
+ Provide coaching and mentoring to local delivery: on the implementation of environmental compliance and plans; and to help them successfully provide oversight for environmental compliance.
+ Perform compliance audits, targeted field assessments and site or plant gap assessments around environmental compliance and assists the site or plants to develop gap closure plans. Participate in and provide data for environmental and special focus audits and assessments.
+ Participate in incident investigations and the corrective action process for environmental issues and opportunities.
+ Act as a Reviewer for local MOC’s initiated at small sites lacking local leveraged environmental resources to perform a second set of eyes review of the change.
+ Keep current with local, area and regional environmental compliance requirements that are not supported by global regulatory affairs. Interpret, implement and ensure full sustainable compliance with those external requirements.
+ Fulfill governmentally required environmental roles such as Certified Environmental Professional. Act as Agency visit protocol owner and implementer.
+ Work closely with personnel responsible for startup and commissioning of new facilities and assist in the development and administration of new environmental programs ensuring compliance with safety standards and applicable laws, regulations, and requirements.
+ Develop, review, monitor, create and deliver training, as appropriate, on environmental compliance related material and ensure tasks are updated/created in the Compliance Task Tool. Train trainers on delivering a forementioned training.
Qualifications
+ A minimum of a bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E5 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant required.
+ At least 6 years of EH&S, manufacturing or related experience required. Environmental permitting and reporting experience preferred.

+ A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Your Skills
+ Strategic Implementation:Ability to develop and lead region-wide execution plans for complex health & safety (H&S) or environmental standards using systems like Management of Change (MOC).
+ Compliance Expertise:Deep understanding of regulatory requirements and the ability to interpret and ensure sustainable compliance with local, regional, and global environmental laws/regulations.
+ Performance Improvement Leadership:Skill in identifying and driving performance improvements across environmental compliance, including streamlining processes and resource delivery.
+ Coaching & Mentoring:Capability to guide and support local teams in implementing strategies and closing compliance gaps through audits, assessments, and training.
+ Incident & Risk Management:Proficiency in conducting investigations, managing corrective actions, and supporting startup and commissioning activities to ensure regulatory alignment.
