    The Mechanical Integrity Inspector provides specialized technical support to operations and maintenance in the form of visual inspection, thickness measurement and many advanced technology solutions that provide information about the condition of equipment that is in service. This role is key to Dow’s license to operate and remain in compliance with our Global Mechanical Integrity Safety Standard (GMISS).

    Responsibilities / Duties

    + Perform equipment compliance inspections before the required due date

    + Perform corrosion rate calculations and determine end of life/half life to set the next inspection interval

    + Complete/submit detailed equipment inspection reports

    + Provide plant turnaround support

    + Perform equipment condition evaluations to determine fitness for service

    + Create Isometric drawings and piping circuits

    + Perform vendor hold point inspections (Approximately 10% travel)

    Required Qualifications:

    + A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

    + 3+ years of relevant experience

    + NDT Level II certification

    + Proficient with Microsoft Office

    + A valid U.S. driver's license

    + A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + API 510/570 certification

    + CWI Certification

    + Advanced NDT

    + Non-Destructive Testing: Nondestructive testing (NDT) is a wide group of analysis techniques used in science and technology industry to evaluate the properties of a material, component or system without causing damage.

     

    The terms nondestructive examination (NDE), nondestructive inspection (NDI), and nondestructive evaluation (NDE) are also commonly used to describe this technology.

     

    + Plant Safety:Plant safety measures aim first and foremost to prevent accidents at plants where hazardous substances are used – and in the event of an accident, minimize the consequent health and environmental effects.

    + Report Writing:Report writing refers to the ability to write a document that presents information in an organized format for a specific audience and purpose.

    Physical Demands:

    Willing and able to meet physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:

    + Wear safety equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes

    + Wear and use respirators infrequently

    + Perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting

    + Infrequent work in tight or closed-in spaces

    + Climb stairs/ladders and work high off the ground.This role does involve elevated work greater than or equal to four feet above the ground. Must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE), including harnesses with a total weight capacity of 300lbs.

    + Stand or walk for extended periods of time

    + Frequent lifting of material weighing approximately 30 lbs

    + This position does not offer relocation support

    + Occasional domestic travel may be involved <5%
