    **Industry Product Engineering (IPE)** is SAP's central Product & Engineering unit, tasked with driving a comprehensive industry mandate across all Lines of Business. IPE enhances generic LoB scenarios by integrating advanced, industry-specific BTP applications. Industries have consistently been a key differentiator for SAP, playing a crucial role in bringing the SAP Business Suite to life. IPE will increasingly focus on the S/4HANA Public Cloud, while continuing to support SAP’s largest customers in their RISE transformations. With profound expertise in our customers' core businesses, IPE is uniquely positioned to integrate AI innovations and develop data products that deliver significant impact

     

    In alignment with SAP’s cloud strategy, Industry Product Engineering (IPE) revolutionizes businesses by defining next-practice processes and developing necessary, new, industry-specific applications for strategic markets on BTP. This approach provides customers with differentiating solutions to facilitate their business transformation.

     

    What you’ll do

     

    As an **E2E Industry Product Manager for the US Federal solution set** , you will be the key person to define, represent and drive the product strategy of your sub-segment across SAP. Your main task is to enable our customers' value chains through verticalization and nurture our ecosystem. Strong collaboration with field counterparts is essential for success, and many tasks will be done jointly.

     

    Your responsibilities will include the following tasks. Note that you will be working as part of a team, and staffing levels will vary across different industry clusters. Consequently, you will not be required to handle every task listed below.

    Know the Market & Competitive Landscape

    + Understand competitive landscape, industry needs and trends, analyst assessments/ratings

    + Leverage these insights to guide the development of industry-specific processes, solutions, and best practices that enhance the company’s competitive edge

    + Evaluate ecosystem and identify strategic partner plays

    Define Industry Product Strategy and Vision

    + Create and own the Public Sector Product Opportunity Map within the US Federal sub-segment and E2E Industry Roadmap including ecosystem

    + Drive decisions towards build, buy, or partner

    + Own/support and prepare internal industry assets e.g., Semester Plan, E2E Industry Plan, 3-year industry strategy

    + Determine investment priorities and drive investment cases

    Drive Verticalization of SAP's Strategic Pillars

    + Identify and create industry-specific Agentic AI and BDC use cases that cover the SAP portfolio and support related built activities.

    + Drive stakeholder alignment within IPE and across other SAP teams including LoBs, BDC, AI, Business Suite (private/public), etc.

    + Drive productization and support commercialization in close alignment with product marketing

    + Collaborate and validate with key customers to ensure market fit

    Own E2E Industry Processes

    + Creation, development, and refinement of E2E industry scenarios and associated content

    + Create industry reference architecture and process mapping across the portfolio including partner solutions

    + Validate product truth by creating and managing industry reference landscape

    Manage E2E Industry Portfolio and Requirement Management

    + Enable key E2E industry processes by driving portfolio discussions across all relevant LoBs and bring them into development execution

    + Closely work with corporate portfolio, IBU, and LoB teams and drive consensus

    Be the Industry Product Thought Leader

    + Be the industry thought leader in topics related to the US Federal government and be the face of the industry within the P&E organization, drive evangelization

    + Support advisory councils and key external industry events to roll-out and validate strategy & roadmap

    + Support strategic customers & deals and be the P&E advocate in customer project steering meetings

    + Influence and collaborate with partner ecosystem and drive key partnerships

    + Be the go-to person for analysts and own corresponding engagements

     

    What you bring

    Required skills

    + 10 years of experience in solution management, product management, solution architecture, or related roles with a focus on industry processes and solutions

    + Deep understanding of specific Public Sector industry verticals and their end-to-end processes

    + A must: Excellent understanding of US Federal Financials, QSMO marketplaces, and overall knowledge of the entire SAP portfolio as used by US Federal agencies

    + Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex industry needs into product requirements

    + Understanding of SAP’s strategy on sovereignty, knowledge of FedRamp, GovRamp

    + Excellent c-level communication and presentation skills

    + Experience working with cross-functional teams and driving collaboration

    + Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree or MBA is a plus

    **Compensation Range Transparency** : SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 281,300 - 481,300 USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
