About this Job
The mission of the Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal is to uphold the law and provide for the protection of life and property from the hazards of fire or explosion, to ensure the safety of our citizens in the constructed environment, to provide equal access to disabled individuals, and to promote the efficient use of energy in commercial buildings.
This position is located in the Fire Emergency Training Academy (FETA) in Baton Rouge. In this role, you will assist with the daily operations of the business office. This may include purchasing, expense reports, deposits, and quality control. The incumbent will also enforce the records retention policy.

Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
The incumbent will assist with the daily operations of the business office. This may include purchasing, expense reports, deposits, and quality control. The incumbent will also enforce the records retention policy
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
* Serve as the Cost Center Manager with final approval for all expense reports, purchasing requisitions, invoices, human resources actions, etc. in Workday.
* Oversee all accounts such as Foundation, Plant, Grants, state funds, and self-generating to ensure University compliance and to identify any potential discrepancies.
* Monitor monthly ledgers and ensure all matching documentation is on file.
* Direct the daily business operations of FETA, including travel, purchasing, expense reports, deposits, reconciliation, invoicing, accounts receivable collections, registration, and financial accounting and reporting.
* Responsible for maintaining course costs for 100+ FETA courses.
* Conduct an annual review of all existing FETA course costs for accuracy and update as needed.
* Miscellaneous – Serves as the records custodian for FETA.

Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group.
Work Schedule:Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. The bi-weeklyentryrate for this position is as follows:
Administrative Program Director 3 (AS620) - $2,318.40
