About this Job
The Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA) is seeking three Coastal Resources Scientist Supervisors to serve in the Planning and Research Division. These positions play a vital role in CPRA’s mission to safeguard Louisiana’s coastal resources and communities.
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in one of the following fields: biological sciences, physical sciences, earth sciences, environmental sciences, natural sciences, engineering or a related field plus three years of experience in coastal resource management, wetland resource management, environmental science, natural resource management, or biology; OR
A master's degree in biological sciences, physical sciences, earth sciences, environmental sciences, natural sciences, engineering or a related field plus two years of experience in coastal resource management, wetland resource management, environmental science, natural resource management, or biology; OR
A Ph.D. in biological sciences, physical sciences, earth sciences, environmental sciences, natural sciences, engineering or a related field plus one year of experience in coastal resource management, wetland resource management, environmental science, natural resource management, or biology.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Feasibility Studies- Supervisors One & Two:
+ Oversees professional staff and coordinates scientific and technical planning for Louisiana’s coastal restoration and hurricane protection efforts.
+ Manages complex, interdisciplinary projects focused on protecting and restoring coastal wetlands and other natural resources.
+ Requires strong leadership skills and experience in ecosystem management.
+ Involves addressing complex environmental, economic, and social challenges.
Master Plan- Supervisor Three:
+ Oversees scientific and technical work supporting Louisiana’s Coastal Master Plan.
+ Requires understanding of complex technical issues related to coastal restoration and hurricane flood protection.
+ Balances environmental, economic, and social considerations in planning and decision-making.
+ Serves as a key member of the Master Plan Team.
+ Contributes to the development of the Coastal Master Plan, guiding the state’s strategies and investments.
+ Focuses on protecting coastal ecosystems and reducing risks to communities from storm surge-based flooding.

Office Location: 150 Terrace Ave Baton Rouge, LA 70802
Compensation: The bi-weekly minimum hire rate established for this position in accordance with CPRA’s Special Entrance Rate Policy is $2,510.40. The maximum salary for the Coastal Resources Scientist Supervisor is $103,064 annually.
