    Position Summary:

    Ensures efficient coordination of Multidisciplinary Clinic and new patient activity for one or more clinical services. Collaborates and mentors the MDT staff to promote staff development and professional behaviors. Works with the Clinical Trials Office (CTO) to identify patients for clinical trials, ensures appropriate tests are scheduled and treatment plan is followed, and to launch new protocols.

    Responsibilities:

    + In conjunction with the Call Center New Patient Coordinator and Physician Concierge Service, the MDT coordinator reviews and approves all new patient appointments for the program and coordinates the Multidisciplinary Clinic new patient visits.

    + Collaborates with MDT RN’s to facilitate an appointment as soon as possible with the appropriate physician.

    + Approves emergency scheduling and coordinates overbooking requests for the program.

    + Assists the MDT Leader with the further development of the overall program, i.e. program promoting, public relations, and development of educational materials for patient and physicians.

    + Monitors for performance improvement through medical record review audits, patient satisfaction surveys, and staging form audits.

    Qualifications:

    _Required:_

    * Graduation from an accredited school of nursing

    * Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license

    * BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) is required by the end of unit orientation

    * ACLS required within 6 months of hire for KCC Critical Care Unit, Interventional Radiology, and Weisberg Special Procedure Suite

    _Preferred:_

    + Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing preferred

    + Minimum of three years of ambulatory experience in oncology preferred.

    + ONS/ANA certification preferred.

    + Strong leadership abilities

    + Excellent skills in communication, problem solving, and negotiation
