Human Resources works with all divisions of the Metropolitan Council to provide proactive solutions for the Council’s workforce needs in the areas of recruitment, labor relations, benefits, training, organizational development, occupational health, and wellness.
How your work would contribute to our organization and the Twin Cities region:
TheWorkforce Development Coordinator provides administrative and programmatic support of multiple workforce development programs, including but not limited to planning, outreach and recruitment, data collection, program execution, and reporting.
This position is eligible for a hybrid (both remote and onsite) telework arrangement. Candidate's permanent residence must be in Minnesota or Wisconsin. All Workforce Development team staff are required to work approximately 50 weekday nights per year both in person and virtually.
What you would do in this job
+ Ensure the project timeline and milestones are being met and/or adjusted, as necessary, in order to deliver program outcomes as identified.
+ Propose training schedules, assist in developing program curriculum, and identify needed resources so program can reach intended outcomes.
+ Develop and implement evaluation, data collection, and performance measurement tools to communicate efficacy and meet contractual requirements.
+ Work with a variety of Council-owned personnel systems and follow applicable established Human Resources procedures.
+ Perform ongoing outreach to targeted internal and external communities to ensure that Council/Transit workforce reflects the communities we serve.
+ Seek to fully understand client's workforce needs, critiquing and evaluating existing strengths and deficits to develop programming that addresses needs and can be implemented if proven successful.
+ Assist in developing potential solutions and approaches to fully understand the long-term goals and objectives of program.
+ Ensure external and internal program partners are fully engaged and fulfilling obligations, including scheduled production of deliverables to ensure program success.
+ Serve as a primary point of contact for external program partners.
+ Receive program improvement suggestions from program partners and stakeholders in a professional manner so critical partnerships are maintained while adjustments are considered.
What education and experience are required for this job (minimum qualifications)
Any of the following combinations of completed education (in human services, communication, training, education, or related field) and experience (performing outreach to targeted communities and developing and implementing evaluation, data collection, and performance measurement tools in a workforce development organization):
+ High school diploma/GED with six or more years of experience
+ Associate degree with four or more years of experience
+ Bachelor's or higher degree with two or more years of experience
License Requirement:Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
What additional skills and experience would be helpful in this job (desired qualifications):
+ Experience working with Twin Cities area workforce development organizations
+ Experience working with multiple transit-related professions, including bus/train operators or mechanics
+ Professional work experience at the Metropolitan Council and understanding of its operating divisions
+ Experience managing recruitments in the NeoGov applicant tracking system
+ Experience using PeopleSoft to enter or review employee information
+ Experience promoting an equitable, positive, and respectful work environment that values culture and diversity among all employees
What knowledge, skills and abilities you should have within the first six months on the job:

Work Environment:
You would perform your work in a standard office setting. Work may sometimes require travel between your primary work site and other sites and includes some non-traditional work hours.
