    Waste Connections (Hollister, CA)


    John Smith Landfill, a Waste Connections company, has an immediate position available for a **Heavy Equipment Operator** at our operation in Hollister, CA .

     

    The primary duties of this job is operating : Excavator, Loader, Dozer, compactor. Class B CDL and landfill experience is preferred.

     

    The schedule will be **4 days per week, 10 hour days** , plus some overtime. The schedule will include either a Saturday or Sunday.

     

    The starting pay rate will be **$32-42/hour.** We also offer great family benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k, paid vacation etc.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Proficient in operating all yellow iron on site.

    • Operating Dozer, Compactor, Excavator, ADT, Loaders, Backhoes, and Roll off Trucks

    • Loading recycle materials in a hopper

    • Pushing up piles of yard debris, rubble

    • Responsible for equipment inspection

    MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • At least 2 years of heavy equipment operation experience

    • ​Class B CDL and prior landfill experience is highly preferred

    • Ability to be self directed as well as work in a team environment

    • Ability to work in all weather conditions

    • Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
