Purpose
Responsible for coordinating patient admissions, discharges, and transfers to support hospital throughput. Guides department leaders to maintain safe staffing levels and efficient operations. Acts as a resource for staff and provides interim leadership, including crisis management. Communicates relevant patient and staff information to appropriate parties.

+ Oversees patient placement and coordinates the ADT process with care teams.
+ Serves as a preceptor and supports new nurse development.
+ Adapts communication and behavior to support staff during transitions.
+ Ensures a safe and efficient physical environment for patients and staff.
+ Advises care teams using critical thinking and resource management.
+ Applies evidence-based practices to improve throughput and quality.
+ Shares expertise across departments and teams.
+ Communicates effectively with all levels of staff and patients.
+ Promotes continuous learning and development.
+ Builds trust through transparency and clear expectations.
+ Supports hospital administration in resolving patient and staff concerns.
+ Coaches on diversity, workplace respect, and professional standards.
+ Upholds nursing performance standards and regulatory compliance.
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience required, with relevant leadership experience preferred. BSN required, either at time of hire/transfer, or must be enrolled in a program within one year of hire/transfer date and completed within three years of enrollment. Must maintain a solid/strong performer rating on annual performance review. Basic Life Support OR Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation. ACLS preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
+ Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
+ NIH Stroke Scale (NIH)
+ Registered Nurse (RN)
+ Act 33 with renewal
+ Act 34 with renewal
+ Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
*Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
