The Department of Political Science at Western Kentucky University (WKU) invites applications for a nine-month, tenure- eligible, Political Science faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 2026. The Department of Political Science is home to undergraduate majors in Political Science, International Affairs, Professional Legal Studies, Philosophy, and Legal Studies. The department also offers a Master of Public Administration.
Successful candidates will be able to teach courses in public law, judicial politics and constitutional law in our Political Science and Legal Studies programs. Applicants should be able to teach introductory American politics and some combination of upper-level courses in political science. Areas of need include American minority politics, research methods and design, and the American presidency.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, advising, research, and service. The candidate will also be expected to pursue an active and productive research agenda that engages undergraduate students

Job Requirements:
+ Ph.D. in political science or closely related field is required at the time of appointment.
