    Billing Accountant (Remote)

    As a Billing Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the complete cycle of Accounts Receivable activities. You will play a vital role as part of the DOL billings and program administration team to ensure that billing to clients is completed both accurately and in a timely manner. Additionally, you will be responsible for tracking receivable statuses and assisting in the resolution of aged account balances. The primary duties for this role include preparing daily or weekly customer invoices, processing both vendor and subcontractor invoices, and tracking payments made by customers and to vendors. This position reports directly to the Project Controller.

    Responsibilities:

    + Prepare and post bills, invoices, and receipts.

    + Ensure all documents are accurate and compliant with federal regulations and contract terms.

    + Receive training to become proficient in client-specific billing processes, especially those involving the government portal.

    + Monitor account statuses and balances weekly.

    + Check for inconsistencies and manage the accounts receivable process.

    + Verify that payments match invoices and ensure financial data accuracy.

    + Reconcile vendor bills and monitor vendor accounts payable for bi-weekly payments and accuracy.

    + Establish and maintain relationships with internal teams.

    + Provide guidance and support for efficient invoicing, billing corrections, and collections.

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or a related field

    + 1 year of accounting experience preferred; or other work experience of 2-3 years will be considered.

    + Proficiency in the MS Office Suite with knowledge of Excel

    + Strong attention to detail.

    + Proactive self-starter with strong organizational skills

    + United States Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance at the “public trust” level

    Sedgwick Government Solutions provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in jurisdictions requiring pay transparency in job postings. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and cost of a specific location. For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting only, the range of starting pay for this role is $60,000- $63,000. A comprehensive benefits package is offered, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, 401 (k) and matching, PTO, disability and life insurance, employee assistance, flexible spending or health savings account, and other additional voluntary benefits.
